Egypt is best known for its impressive pyramids and rich cultural experience, but it is also known as a growing source and procurement market for textiles and one of the world’s largest textile factories. It has more than 1500 apparel factories with an average production capacity of 500 million pieces per day. This is the reason why a lot of entrepreneurs are interested in opening businesses or collaborating with the locals in Egypt, particularly those who are in the apparel and textile industries.
Beside the high-quality textile and clothing products, the investors are attracted in Egypt for its strategic location that is close to the entire MENA region, Europe, and North America. It’s easy to export ready-made products and distribute them among its neighboring countries.
According to the Ready-made Garments Export Council of Egypt, off the shelf garment exports increased by 21% in the same month of last year, 2022.*

ATB Intellectual Property, who has nearly 30 years of experience in the field of anti-counterfeiting can’t deny this statement as recently, we have carried out numerous raid actions against the factories manufacturing such a large amount of hoax products. Our steadfast team aims to prevent such cases with a result-driven approach in order to minimize the increased volume of expanded counterfeited items. Since last year, in cooperation with local enforcement authorities, we have seized almost half a million of the so-called products which are ready to be exported among the wholesalers all around its cities and adjacent countries. It made a huge impact on the producers as it served as a warning to them.
These fake products produced illegally resulted in accumulated financial losses through the years that affected brand owners. It creates confusion among the consumers between these branded and fake products. In order to help Brand owners, our company is conducting an annual training for the local authorities of Egypt. This training helps authorities on how to distinguish fake products from the original ones. It also aims to cut the source of these said products manufacturers by conducting raids against the factories and suppliers of this illegal activity. We may not totally eradicate this problem but with perseverance and will to slowly fight these illegal traders we may be able to lessen their activities and sooner put an end to their actions.
