Our team, in coordination with enforcement authorities in the UAE, carried out a successful 7-hour operation that resulted in the seizure of nearly 150,000 counterfeit face and body care products from a chain of shops and their associated storage facilities.
The trader mainly operated in both the retail and wholesale distribution of suspected counterfeit products from various well-known brands. Initially, only one shop was identified. However, we learned that the trader was about to receive a shipment from China, which led us to believe there was a storage facility and possibly other connected locations. This prompted further investigation, which revealed four additional branches, and two flats located in residential buildings used by the same trader as storage spaces.
Each of the shops was found to contain substantial retail quantities of counterfeit goods. It was also discovered that the shops had lofts, which are believed to hold larger stock to support daily operations, allowing replenishment as needed.
Upon completion of the inspections at all locations, the seized goods were loaded onto five 3-ton trucks and transferred to a third-party logistics company for safekeeping. The goods will remain in storage while the case proceeds, until the court orders their destruction.
