As part of ATB Intellectual Property ongoing efforts to combat counterfeit trade and safeguard public safety, a container suspected of carrying counterfeit automotive parts was successfully intercepted at Ain Sokhna Port in Egypt.
Upon inspection by the Egyptian customs authorities and in coordination with ATB Intellectual Property, it was confirmed that the container held a large quantity of cartons containing thousands of counterfeit automotive spare parts. These products were found to bear the trademarks of several well-known international automotive brands and were intended for illegal distribution in the local market.
The counterfeit parts identified pose a serious risk to consumer safety, particularly due to their substandard quality and failure to meet industry specifications. The unauthorized use of such components in vehicles may lead to mechanical failures, traffic accidents, or other life-threatening incidents.
This seizure reinforces ATB Intellectual Property commitment to protecting both the safety of end users and the intellectual property rights of our clients. ATB Intellectual Property remain vigilant in our enforcement efforts to preserve the reputation and integrity of the brands we represent, and to prevent the circulation of dangerous counterfeit goods in the Egyptian market.
ATB Intellectual Property extend our appreciation to the Egyptian customs authorities for their decisive action and continued cooperation in the fight against counterfeit and infringing goods.
