As part of the ongoing efforts to combat counterfeiting in Egypt, the Egyptian Customs Authority, in close collaboration with ATB-IP, successfully destroyed 300,000 counterfeit automotive spark plugs that were seized in a massive container at Port Said seaport.
The destruction process, which took nearly 10 hours to complete, was carried out under strict supervision to ensure compliance with safety and legal standards. This decisive action prevented potentially severe harm to Egyptian consumers and automotive spare parts traders, who would have been exposed to substandard and dangerous counterfeit products.

This case reflects Egypt’s strong commitment to protecting intellectual property rights for trademarks owners and safeguarding the market against counterfeit goods. ATB-IP team remains dedicated to supporting enforcement authorities in their mission to protect both brand owners and end consumers from the risks associated with counterfeit trade.
