As part of ATB IP’s ongoing efforts to combat counterfeiting and protect intellectual property rights across the UAE, a major enforcement operation was successfully carried out in coordination with authorities against a warehouse involved in the storage and distribution of counterfeit skincare products.
The operation followed several weeks of surveillance after new intelligence revealed significant stock movements at the premises. Investigators observed multiple deliveries, including the arrival of a 40-foot shipping container, indicating that the warehouse was actively receiving large quantities of suspected counterfeit goods. Further surveillance confirmed that the facility consisted of two storage levels capable of accommodating substantial volumes of products.
Based on the evidence gathered, the authorities scheduled an immediate inspection of the warehouse.
During the raid, investigators discovered a large-scale storage operation containing more than 200,000 counterfeit skincare products bearing the trademarks of numerous internationally recognized brands. The estimated market value of the seized products exceeded AED 1 million.
Due to the scale of the operation, ATB IP deployed a dedicated enforcement team supported by additional laborers to inspect, verify, and process every carton recovered from the warehouse. The inspection lasted more than three and a half hours, while eight 3-ton trucks were required to transport the seized goods to a secure third-party logistics facility, where they will remain pending destruction by the competent authorities..
This enforcement action represents a significant disruption to a large-scale counterfeiting network operating within the UAE and prevented a substantial volume of counterfeit products from reaching the market.
