A chain of outlets across the UAE was identified as trading in counterfeit branded merchandise across 32 different locations. The investigation, conducted on behalf of our valued clients, led to the seizure of substantial quantities of counterfeit goods. The investigation was then extended beyond the retail outlets to trace and identify the network’s main supply source.
ATB Intellectual Property team worked closely with authorities from Dubai DED, Sharjah DED, Ajman DED, Ras Al Khaimah DED, Abu Dhabi DED, and Police Authorities during the pre-raid stage. Following detailed coordination and planning, it was agreed that enforcement action would be carried out simultaneously across all locations to prevent the movement or removal of counterfeit stock.
The coordinated operation was scheduled for 25 August 2026 at 5:30 PM. On the day of the operation, the relevant authorities were positioned at their assigned locations, with one ATB team member assigned to be present at each location during the inspection. At the scheduled time, the inspections commenced across the identified retail outlets and warehouse.
A moment never seen before, 32 locations were raided by six different authorities across all locations at once. A month-long effort of ATB IP involving extensive coordination with multiple authorities throughout different cities and mobilizing the necessary personnel to support each raid.
The operation resulted in the discovery and seizure of counterfeit merchandise from multiple outlets as well as the main warehouse. Following the inspections, the seized goods from the retail locations were placed under the custody of the respective DED authorities.
Due to the significant volume of goods recovered from the warehouse, Police authorities supervised the seizure and transportation process. Three trucks, each with a 3-ton capacity, were used to transport the seized stock to a third-party logistics facility for safekeeping while the legal proceedings continue.
