At ATB Intellectual property, we remain committed to protecting both the trademarks of our clients and the general safety of consumers. In a recent operation, our enforcement team successfully identified and acted against a warehouse that was found to contain approximately 15,000 counterfeit women’s handbags, falsely bearing the trademarks of several prominent international brands.
These counterfeit products pose a serious risk to consumers. Unlike genuine items, counterfeit handbags are typically manufactured using poor-quality materials and are not subject to any safety or quality controls. This can result in a range of issues, from product failure to potential health risks caused by exposure to unregulated chemicals and dyes. Furthermore, the presence of such large-scale counterfeit operations undermines consumer confidence and devalues the authenticity of original products in the market.
ATB Intellectual Property plays an active role in monitoring the market, gathering intelligence, and coordinating with relevant authorities to identify and shut down facilities engaged in the production or distribution of counterfeit goods. We also remain dedicated to raising public awareness about the dangers of counterfeit products and the importance of purchasing only from authorized and reputable sources.
ATB Intellectual Property extend our appreciation to the Egyptian customs authorities for their decisive action and continued cooperation in the fight against counterfeit and infringing goods.
