Saudi Arabia’s Fashion Commission, in partnership with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), has unveiled a new guide aimed at strengthening intellectual property (IP) awareness and protection within the country’s flourishing fashion industry.
The comprehensive guide equips designers and fashion businesses with practical insights on how to secure the unique aspects of their brands, such as names, logos, and trade dress. It underscores the vital role trademarks play in shaping brand recognition, earning consumer confidence, and securing long-term commercial success.
Beyond trademarks, the publication also explores other forms of IP relevant to the fashion sector, including patents, industrial designs, and copyright protections. The guide places particular focus on trademark strategy and enforcement as the industry expands and gains greater global prominence.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, reflecting the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a creative economy that understands and values intellectual property. It also builds on recent improvements in trademark registration procedures and legal enforcement, ensuring better protection for creative enterprises operating in Saudi Arabia’s dynamic market.
