As part of ongoing efforts to combat counterfeiting and protect intellectual property rights, a significant case of trademark infringement has been uncovered in the Shubra El Kheima area. ATB Intellectual Property team identified an illegal manufacturing facility involved in producing counterfeit jeans bearing internationally recognized brand names.
Following extensive field investigations, the factory was found to be operating covertly, producing large quantities of counterfeit denim products. These goods were being distributed in the local Egyptian market, with the majority exported to neighboring countries.
During the inspection, enforcement authorities discovered a range of industrial sewing machines, printing equipment, and packaging materials used to illegally replicate globally recognized trademarks. The facility was not only distributing counterfeit items but was actively engaged in the full-scale production of fake branded jeans a serious violation of intellectual property laws and fair-trade practices. This target was identified following raids conducted in other countries in the region, where it was confirmed that the same entity was responsible for exporting the seized counterfeit products.
Legal action has been initiated against those responsible, and all seized items and equipment are now in the custody of the relevant authorities.
