After an extensive three-month investigation, ATB Intellectual Property team, along with UAE enforcement authorities, successfully executed a raid on a trader involved in distributing counterfeit 3D-shaped compressors from a well-known American brand, along with unauthorized branded stickers. The trader had been importing AC parts from China and rebranding them as Dubai-made products.
During the raid, we targeted a large warehouse used to store both unbranded products and branded materials, as well as the equipment employed for the counterfeiting process.
In addition to the warehouse, the trader was found to be using a residential flat to store labels and small parts used for relabeling counterfeit items. The investigation and raid were carried out based on instructions from our clients, who suspected that the trader was supplying counterfeit AC parts to the industrial sectors across the UAE and GCC countries.
Following the inspection, the counterfeit products were seized and transferred to our third-party logistics company, where they will be securely stored until destruction by the authorities.
