As of April 9, 2025, the Kingdom of Bahrain has adopted the 12th edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services (Nice Classification), marking a notable advancement in the country’s trademark regulatory framework.
This implementation brings Bahrain’s classification system in line with the most recent global standards established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The adoption is expected to streamline the trademark registration process and provide enhanced clarity and consistency for applicants. It also supports both local and international businesses in securing broader protection for their brands under the updated classification.
